Edward Fraser Jones
1843 - 1929
Edward Fraser Jones was born in Yorkshire, and moved to New Zealand by 1866. He worked in Auckland, presumably as an engineer and as a teacher, and set up practice as an architect in Wellington from 1879 to 1917. Jones designed at least 25 houses in Wellington, along with nine shop/dwellings, an office building and a Wesleyan mission house. His work was predominantly in Newtown, although some buildings were designed for Te Aro and Hataitai.
